This afternoon Gabby and I walked to the supermarket to buy fish for dinner (She loves fish!). On our way back she asked me to keep all her clothes stored. This isn't really unusual by itself. She's made that request several times in the past. But what shocked me (and I guess every mom of a 5 year old girl would be) is the reason why she wanted me to keep her clothes.
"Para pag nagkaaanak ako."
I didn't think I heard that correctly so I asked her to explain. She said she wanted to save her clothes for the baby she will have in the future. I was shocked that at her age she knows that she wants to have a baby (Well, at least she didn't say babies!) Now I know that my daughter's going to be more than a handful when she hits puberty.

a-CHOO CHOO Gabby!
"Mama, I'm a train!"
And so my imaginative five year old informed me. It caught my interest since she'd dress up like a princess, a mermaid, or a fairy, but never a train. At first I thought this has something to do with Thomas and Friends so I asked. How?
Then she made a train's noise using her snotty-filled nose. Hahaha. Thank God she's not going to ask me to make a train costume. I wouldn't have a clue.

Gabby Goes to Grade 1
Worried that Gabby would find Prep boring, I decided to enroll her in Grade I. It's a bit early since she is only 5 1/2 years old when the school year started. To find out if she was ready to enter elementary school, I made her take entrance tests in Liceo de San Pedro (LDSP) and Laguna Northwestern College(LNC). I'm proud to say that she passed both tests.
Unfortunately, LDSP would not accept her because of her age. I was set to enroll her in LNC but was worried that they have many students in her class. I finally decided to let her stay with Divine Marie School since this is where she learned to read. And boy could she read. Well, here's a pic of her in her school uniform!

Jolly 5th Bday to Gabby!
As compared to McDonald's, I've always liked parties celebrated in Jollibee for several reasons. One, they choose hosts that are gay (in both sense of the word). Second, Jollibee is way much cooler than any McDonald's mascot that I know. Every Jollibee mascot I've seen knows cool dance moves that never fails to amuse and entertain the crowd, both children and adults alike. Third, I like their games. They're fun and engaging.
So far Gabby's 5th birthday -- and Toni's 1st birthday -- we celebrated at Jollibee. The whole gig lasted for an hour and a half. It was short as birthday parties go, but it was definitely fun and memorable for Gabby, who chose to dress like a princess that night.
Here's a video from that party.
